Taydem Bailsley

An Aveda Institute alumni born and raised here in Portland, Oregon, Taydem created Baisley Beauty in 2020 with a desire to blend artistry and technical precision. She has a passion for basing her services off of her client’s natural textures and unlocking their full hair potential. With ongoing education from local industry experts and curl specialists, she nourishes all hair types from straight hair to waves to coils, always making sure her client’s leave the salon with the knowledge of how to care for their hair long term and recreate their style at home with ease. 

Taydem has a knack for precision and razor cutting, dry curly cuts, blonding, vivid colors and self-affirming styles. She spends most of her time sitting with the what, whys and hows of hair, taking steps further to understand the science behind the craft and how to maximize hair and scalp health. She understands it is not just hair she is shaping, but a newfound sense of pride when her clients run their hands through their freshly styled hair.

She pulls her inspiration from trends throughout the decades, ranging from the 20’s flapper waves all the way to the 60’s rock n roll scene, the 70’s psychedelic movement, the 80’s punk revolution and further, always open to bringing her client’s creative ideas to life.

When she’s away from the chair, Taydem spends time at her family’s motorcycle shop, wandering North Portland with her friends or at home snuggling up with her kitty, Neo. Her favorite days off are the ones she gets to be on Mt. Hood skiing with her friends and her dad.

Taydem is receiving ongoing education through our Mentorship Program under salon owner Scott Kane and assists Curl Specialist, Moe Cooley, of the separate establishment Moe’s Beauty Co.
